Michelle has her hands full.

With a teenage daughter to raise, an ex husband to deal with and a bakery to run, she has no time to focus on herself. In fact for the last two years Michelle has put her heart and soul into her bakery and her new life and the business is going from strength to strength.

Now it’s time to focus on herself. After two years of solid work, Michelle is determined to find time for love after meeting handsome stranger Gregg Davidson. Gregg is gorgeous, funny and seems to be completely smitten with her. So why does Michelle feel he is holding something back? Little does she know that Gregg has a secret that threatens not only their relationship but everything she has worked so hard to create.

She is about to find out that making love is a lot more complicated than baking love.

Baking Love is a dazzling contemporary romance that will appeal to fans of Hilary Boyd, Jane Green and Joanna Trollope.

'A delicious treat of a book'. - Holly Kinsella, best-selling author of 'Uptown Girl'.

Susan Willis lives in the North East of England. For 15 years she has worked as a food-product development manager. She has written three novels, 'Yes Chef, No Chef', 'Love on a Plate' and 'A Taste of Love', and a novella, 'Baking Love', all of which were best-sellers.

Michelle Thompson is the owner of a small bakery that specializes in cakes and cupcakes, and is just starting to make a success of it as she begins to introduce new flavors and decorated cakes. She's invested her settlement from her recent divorce into the business while trying to make a new life for herself and her teenage daughter. Romance is the last thing on her mind when she attends a foodie convention in London to check out new ideas she might be able to use in her own creations, so when she meets Gregg Davidson, Michelle is unprepared for the instant attraction they seem to have for one another. But there is a secret he is keeping from her about his job which may ruin any chance they have of acting on that attraction.

There were some good moments in this book, specifically the planning and execution of the Pink Cake Day at the bakery in aid of breast cancer research, but unfortunately most of the rest of the book follows the formula of an ordinary romance. Girl meets boy, boy has secret, girl finds out secret, and so on with little variance from the norm or unexpected twists.

I also had some problems with the Michelle character. At many points in the book, her teenage daughter Emily seemed more mature, level headed, and capable than Michelle. For someone who supposedly was struggling to build her business, Michelle also seemed to take a lot of time away from her bakery and to do a lot of clubbing with her friends instead of putting in the long hours one would expect manning the mixer and oven.

Disappointing and not recommended. Instead, I would recommend what I consider a much better example of this author's work, The Bake Off, a short sample of which is included at the end of this book.

Baking Love edition by Susan Willis Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

this is about relationships and learning to trust people.the way it's learned is what this all about business and people.
While it is written with the well used or of romance books, it is an enjoyable quick read. What I did not like was the obvious lead to a second book. The story just stops with a word from three author to read the next business ok to learn more. Bad taste.
I was not sure I would like this book and it was okay the drama of single life and dating and the complications of work mingling with love is showcased very well in this book.
I thoroughly enjoyed Baking Love A cupcake Romance. In one afternoon I was whisked away and was introduced to Michelle who was raising a teenager daughter and running a bakery after her husband left her for another woman. I fell in love with the Characters in this book. They were real everyday people. Michelle met Gregg and there was an attraction they both felt. But he was holding back a secret. A secret that ultimately may mean the end of her Bakery. But can love conquer all? You will have to read and see. This was such a clean romance. I plan to encourage my friends to read this book. I look forward to reading more books written by Susan Willis.
